Yes, but the NCAA still needs evidence to punish anyone. So give em that evidence you obviously have since you're the only person in the world that's still talking about this.

It took the NCAA 4 years to wrap up the Maggette investigation.
That loophole has since been closed, and the NCAA said it did not need Lance or the jeweler to punish Dook.

And you have been saying this now for 6 months.

Murder investigatios are wrapped quicker than this.

Just because he didn't pay the rent doesn't mean you can conclude he didn't have the money. Some people just don't have the same priorities that others do. As ACCfan has said, unless you have PROOF (that thing that stands up in court) that he didn't have the money, you have no leg to stand on.

He was sued for non payment of rent by his landlord.

Dookies will make any excuse that they can to try to make it go away, but it will not.

K's use of paid players has not gone without attention.

    Letter in N & O, Feb. 5, 2013.

...The university's self-serving investigations are fooling no one. Rather, they strengthen the perception that the university values athletics over integrity, academic excellence and all other attributes that are reputedly important to institutions of higher learning.

The Carolina Way has become the Carolina Spin Cycle: cheat, deny, delay, misrepresent and misdirect. Perhaps UNC should simply admit the truth and adopt the motto "Athletics uber alles".

(Yep, it's ALL behind us now. Let's just move on. There's nothing more to see here.) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    UNC FANS ARE LIARS

BTW - yet another thread - "one that was about UNC athletes having to pay for own tutors" that dooksux3 has turned into his own personal "anti-duke" page. Same old - same old.

  • unbiasedaccfan Feb 5, 2013

To start with he's not "one of my players". I could care less if Duke gets penalized or not - however, it is sad and pitiful when you make up facts. Saying that Lance Thomas committed a violation by putting down $30,000 is stupid. How do you know he couldn't afford it? How do you know he couldn't pay his rent? Please forward these facts to the NCAA - I'm sure they would like to have them. I know that when people tell themselves something over and over, they start to believe it and it becomes fact. If all you have are the "facts" you have listed above, then you have no facts and should keep quiet. There are no court documents yet that show Lance Thomas receiving any money illegally. Sorry that you will lose out on this one.

See, you have it all figured out. When is your next meeting with the NCAA.

BTW, statue of limitations runs out in December. Better hurry.

Also, how do you know it was LANCE who put the 30k down and not someone who was with him and gave him the money?

And as I have said mulitiple times on here, I have purchased jeweler and my jeweler has sent me a bill for the balance. No credit report or anything, just my word that I would pay.

And the jeweler sued for the balance owed, said 30k was put down and the balance was due in two weeks. Lance didnt pay. Jeweler sued. Lance paid.

Anyway, head on down to your Duke tin foil store, it is going to be a long hot summer for you.

LOL, they are called court documents. The jeweler sued him and filed the facts of the case. That is how we know about what the terms were.

Are you claiming the jeweler filings are false, and LT quickly settled false claims and failed to defend himself in the media?

I doubt even Dookies are that dumb. As far as ruling, it took them 4 years to rule on Maggette, and that loophole is now gone.

How do you know Lance put the 30k down and how do you know what the agreement was between the jeweler and Lance for the remainder of balance.

You are taking assumptions and facts and combining them to attempt to make your point.

If it was as cut and dried as you say, it should be over by now and the NCAA would have already ruled.

Everything I post is a fact.

Lance Thomas having 30K for bling when he could not afford his rent is a fact.

Lance Thomas being extended 67K in credit when he had no job or means of repayment known is a fact.

The court documents filed are considered fact. I am sorry that your fragile intellect can not handle the fact that one of your players received illegal benefits and still has not explained any of it, but it makes Lance Thomas no less of a paid player ineligible under NCAA rules.

It may take a while for the entire truth to come out and for the NCAA to rule, but when it happens, the hammer should fall hard.

  • unbiasedaccfan Feb 5, 2013

Actually its sad for you dooksuz3. You spend so much energy on putting down Duke when you obviously have no facts. If you did, I'm sure it would already be in the NCAA's hands. Maybe you should spend more time with your kids, go to the beach, play some golf, or something to take your mind of the obsession you have with Duke. Duke actually does things the right way - something your school doesn't do and hasn't done for some time. They say the best way to take the heat off your own cheating is to point at someone else - it's called deflection.

Personally, I think all schools should be banned from providing tutoring to athletes. It is nothing more than a tacit admission that they are recruiting athletes who are unqualified to be enrolled.

I feel bad for those student-athletes that came in under the understanding of the old policy and chose to come to UNC for the education. Seems like they've had the rug pulled out from under them with this news.
