New UNC policy forces athletes to pay for their own tutors

New UNC policy forces athletes to pay for their own tutors

I feel bad for those student-athletes that came in under the understanding of the old policy and chose to come to UNC for the education. Seems like they've had the rug pulled out from under them with this news.

RE: New UNC policy forces athletes to pay for their own tutors

Personally, I think all schools should be banned from providing tutoring to athletes. It is nothing more than a tacit admission that they are recruiting athletes who are unqualified to be enrolled.

I agree, Ken. They should take advantage of the free tutoring offered on Campus or pay for their own.

Or at least make access equal to everyone. Down right shameful!

or make the classes easy enough that no tutors required. oh, nope they've tried that.

Exacerbating Gaylor’s frustration over the lack of access for non-revenue athletes like himself is the seeming ease with which football and men’s basketball players got the help he wanted.

Gee I wonder why that is.

I do not know. Tell me.

K is hoping that the NCAA pays its athletes, as of now all of the money they are getting paid at Dook is his responsibility.

And the deflctor joins in, i think u should go to the ncaa, with all this inside info u have on duke. Im sure thrre are plenty of reporters, locally, that would eat this up. Since you hate duke soo bad, i would think you would be ready to cash in on this and bring down the university that troubles you so. Oh wait, your full of shiite. Nvm

You claim it is not true, yet you feel compelled to respond.

Your hurt and insecurity shines through.

How sad for you.

Actually its sad for you dooksuz3. You spend so much energy on putting down Duke when you obviously have no facts. If you did, I'm sure it would already be in the NCAA's hands. Maybe you should spend more time with your kids, go to the beach, play some golf, or something to take your mind of the obsession you have with Duke. Duke actually does things the right way - something your school doesn't do and hasn't done for some time. They say the best way to take the heat off your own cheating is to point at someone else - it's called deflection.
