the average age of miami basketball is 23. one player is 25. how do you get to play college basketball at age 25?

You're probably right about that. The 'Canes are having one of those seasons. Isn't their average age 25 or something like that? Kiddin'....but they do have a very experienced team.

I think Duke is the only team that can beat the Category 5 Hurricanes at this point. FSU got killed by Wake yesterday, and while that was a road game for the Seminoles, I just don't think they can take down Miami.

Miami has yet to even have anyone give them a game at home. Its not just Duke that was blown out there, every other ACC opponent thats visited has been destroyed. The first meeting was close and the Hurricanes had the strong second half, but keep in mind 6'-10" widebody Reggie Johnson didn't play in the 1st meeting, he'll be out there today.

Two reasons the heels won't win.

    1. Miami has one of the best defenses in the country.
    2. UNC has no one strong enough to stop Kadji and Johnson in the post.

One way for UNC to win.
    1. Foul them often. Miami is THE worst free throw team in the ACC and UNC has lots of fouls to give away in the interior.

Heels are finally healthy and playing pretty decent. Seems to be the year of the upset, so I got the Heels 75-71.

Agreed, RD. The Heels can beat 'em but they're gonna have to start out strong. If they get down early in CG, it'll be tough.

    Go Heels..........today. lol

Although I want the Canes to fall, Please God don't let it be UNC that knocks them off. I will never hear the end of it. Too bad they don't play State again. My bet is they don't lose until March 2nd.

I dont think Miami loses at home this year either, If heels can keep it close then i like their chances, 3`s are gonna have to be falling bigtime for us... but Carolina seems to dig themselves a big first half hole, then fights back to make it respectable and comes up short.... I think how we play the first half is the key to this game.... I`m going with Miami, but a "hot" shooting tarheels team could take this one :)

Miami's experience has allowed them to win five games already on the road in the ACC. But their home court has never given them much of an advantage. I look for an upset today - one of three losses I expect Miami to suffer before the regular season ends. That may still be enough to give them the #1 seed in the ACCT, but it's not a lock.

Bill self said it`s the worst Kansas jayhawk team they`ve ever put on the floor (Kinda harsh to the players i thought to say it to the media, didnt hear him mention
his coaching in that game).. anyway, anything is possible

... well, at least the Heels don't have to worry about giving up a home court advantage, after all, even though the game is in Coral Gables.

I have high hopes for the Heels for this game....the game in DES was closer than the 9 point margin, late fouling ballooned Miami's total. Miami ESCAPED BC at BC by one point, whereas we recently DESTROYED BC at home even after losing PJ. I don't think you can use the d00k curb stomping as a barometer, seeing as the Heels have not QUIT during any game, no matter the score, and nearly came back to beat Butler and state college after getting down early. It's hard to match up with Miami, seeing as they are comprised of upper classmen and one 5th year player, one 6TH year player.....and all have been playing together for quite some time (ie Butler and Indiana). But I've liked what I've seen from the Heels of late, aside from the state college game where JMM was voided early on by 2 ghost fouls in the first 2 minutes. I think if we play smart and hit a few 3's, the game will stay close. Hopefully Strickland continues his return to form and drives the ball hard to the basket. In a close call, I say the Heels take down the Canes 85-81.

    GO HEELS!

    Heels take this one 82-77.

Miami needs to be brought down a notch, and Roy is just the HOF coach to git'r'done.

Came looking for a thread about this game ..... curiously didn't find one though the game is less than 12 hours away ( i saw the thread about the uni's but that didn't seem so much about the actual game).... SO...

Thought I would create one. The official line ( Miami by 8) seems a little generous to UNC to me, given the Duke beat-down. I'm thinking Miami by 12...

    .... Thoughts?
