I hate the kid is hurt but all he does is foul. I've skimmed over some other comments and if you want someone to guard Plumlee switch off McAdoo, Hubert, Strickland, and Hairston. The latter two don't have the size but they are faster than Plumlee and MIGHT can keep him from getting to the basket so easily. James looks lost in every game. Brice Johnson should get some more PT and hopefully keep his scoring up.

Maybe Roy will learn to call a timeout if Duke goes on a run...but I doubt it.

How is that living in the past?

Has dook won a tournament game since Lee said Hi?

America says NO!That Lehigh humiliation is still VERY MUCH in the present for dookies.

    Heh.

    hahaha! That's funny.

In all honesty, I don't think this game is going to be a cake walk for Duke. Not at all. I really hope the young guys come out strong and don't get big headed. I'm not worried about Plumlee, Thornton and Curry doing that...but the rest are questionable.

While I expect a Duke win, it wouldn't surprise me to see UNC win it. I don't expect a blowout, either. UNC is gonna come to play...and with Paige biting Plumlee's kneecaps, that could pose a potential problem.

I'll take that, only if it comes with dook ending up 30-2 and then getting a #2 seed in the tournament and a 1st round game in Greensboro with Jay Bilas saying they are the greatest team in the history of basketball and then they have to play against #15 seed Lehigh and CJ McCollum scores 30 points for the Lehigh win to send dook home crying (yet again) while the whole country watches on CBS.

    Oh wait..

I'd take that only if it came with UNC ending up the season on the bubble with Joe Lunardi saying if they had won that game they lost at Duke by 1, that would've moved them from the last 4 out to the last 4 in.

Would love to keep this trend going tomorrow night but I'll gladly take a 1 point Duke victory on a last second tip-in. Then the tarheel fringers heads would explode.

^and in each case, the stomper is the home team. UVA by 18 over VA Tech and FL over UK by 17 with Noel having to be carried off the floor with 5 min left after running his knee into the basket support.

James isn't much of a scorer, but when he's in the game he can make people alter their shots inside.

You do not have to stop Mason, just defend the other players. Even without James, there are still enough fouls to go around. Outside of Curry, there is not another consistent scoring threat for Dook. That will be their downfall in the Dance.

^Normally I would say no, but since they are sooo inept in the front court I think the only chance they have of stopping Mason would be by "committee", and that grouping just got a little smaller.

Johnson against Dook? Get outta here! Plumlee would wear him like an ascot! Way too thin to put up any resistance in the paint!

Funny quote from Roy about Paige biting Plumlees kneecaps lol. Roy eventually has to come to his senses and start Paige/Hairston/Bullock/McAdoo/Johnson. Hubert and Strick in the starting lineup makes UNC extremely easy to defend.

the funny thing is most people think McAdoo is unc's best player but hes not. i believe if roy wanted to make him play better he should put him on the bench instead of start him that would make him realize that hes not as good as he thinks he is. Which in the long run would make him a better player.

Obviously, you are just trolling today. There is NO UNC FAN that will use Joel James as an excuse. If he is out, that means there will be 3 less turnovers and 5 less fouls for the Heels. That is all!

In a game where the odds are already heavily against the Tar Heels' favor, the odds just took another plunge against their favor.

North Carolina head coach Roy Williams spoke in a press conference just moments ago announcing that freshman forward Joel James will not play Wednesday night against No. 2 Duke.
James has reportedly suffered a concussion last week against Wake Forest, the same game where James Michael McAdoo reportedly injured his back.
Joel James did not practice yesterday, and will not practice or play today and tomorrow. McAdoo is expected to practice today and play tomorrow night, but with an injury like that, it could get worse for McAdoo against a very physical Duke team with Mason Plumlee.

"I think we're gonna start Marcus Paige on Plumlee and have him bite him on the kneecaps. we haven't tried that yet," coach Williams said during his Tuesday press conference.
Williams is facing tons of public backlish for his starting lineup and lack of giving "better" players (as many fans and analysts) put it, more playing time.
James hasn't had much of an offensive impact this season yet, but his size is very important when it comes to pressure in the paint. Duke already has the advantage with Mason Plumlee, but now James is injured and McAdoo is nursing a sore back, it will be tough for North Carolina to edge the Blue Devils.
There is no word on when James will return to the court. He will more than likely miss one week just as PJ Hairston did just a few weeks ago after suffering a concussion against Boston College.
