    dear duhh,

please advise the watching audience as to what you saw from Lewis today (keeping in mind that UNC primarily played their 'small line-up' all game).

    yours truly,

    kato

    p.s. how bout dem HEELS???!!!

It is the truth. Stillmans first playing time was not in the Elite 8 game was it?

I know you wont answer a simple direct question, but we all know the answer to it.

So Hokie...duhh concurs with kato that Lewis did not "save" the wolffies when Brown was out.

And given duhh's contention that the wolffies must commit to defense to become a better team, it will be interesting to see how Lewis contributes in that vein (dude has a grand total of 1 steal with all those minutes played since Brown tweaked his ankle).

    duhh...

Lewis has not proven anything as of yet...

other than he may have the edge on White.

And my clarifier was a direct response to Hokie's assertion that Lewis "saved" the wolffies when Brown was out. Man up about that.

i see it the same way, Lewis needs to run the show, Brown has too many turnovers to offset the league-leading assists(7 assists/6 to's last game), and Lewis is a better free throw shooter and decision-maker...Brown needs to be the shooter/slasher/board crasher, with assists thrown in when he starts getting the attention

you know as well as anyone on here, the losses had nothing to do with Lewis' play, so man up, clarifier, about being wrong about Lewis

Point of clarification regarding Lewis 'saving' the wolffies there Hokie:

The game that Zo went down early and Lewis came in...they lost.
The next two games that Zo did not play and Lewis did...they lost.

Stillman played in games prior to the elite 8 game last year.

After the last few games it is pretty obvious Tyler is the much better player.

Again, White's numbers were in an Elite 8 game. Lewis' came in a regular season conference game in February. You're right, they are not comparable. NCAA tourney games are a little more meaningful. State fans aren't used to playing in March, but contrary to wolfpack lore, those games are rather important!!

    I've gotta go with White.

Imagine what he might have done in that round of eight game if ol' Roy could've only figured out what defense Kansas was in. :)

Lewis saved NC State when Brown was out. How's that for the all knowing on here? The coaching staff sees this. The fans want to make a big deal about Stillman. Give it up. Lewis is a small 5'10" at best. This little skinny young player saved State in a few games.

I was thinking the same thing. Losing Brown so suddenly was tough, but Lewis stepped up big time, you'd never know he was thrown into that position. I also wondered if Gott might put Brown back in his original position of a SG as well, but I guess the team is used to Brown playing PG.

I think Brown is gone after this year as well, and Lewis will be able to jump right into the PG position. That kid can flat out ball.

he was also 1-5 from the field, 0-3 from 3land, and only played 28 mins.

on a NEUTRAL court vs. CAMERON Indoor.

    again, hardly comparable.

IMO, I would take Tyler Lewis. He seems to have better skill, with handling, shooting, driving to the basket, and passing. If fact I don't understand why he doesn't start and Brown play his postions as a shooting guard. When Brown was out, he played like a starter. I think next year, if Brown leaves, and I think he will, the postion will be his to lose.

White was thrown into the fire during the NCAA Tournament. He had much more pressure on him to perform than Lewis. I would like to see him play more during the season to make an educated judgement.

Something Tyler "Barney Fife" Lewis will never get a whiff of, not without transferring someplace else.

Tyler Lewis ran the point @ Cameron, as a true frosh, for 38 mins and didn't commit a turnover... While scoring in double digits.

I'd say VT's Erick Green is way better than S.White or T.Lewis. VT has a premier guard over there.

It's still too early to evaluate either player. Lewis had played little this year other than when Brown was injured. White played little last year until injuries force him into the rotation. But based on that limited exposure, I would give the edge to Lewis on offense and White on playmaking/defense.
