They broke NOTHING. National news outlets were breaking stories about this before they would show up on WRAL. We covered this while it was happening, and of course the likes of you just called us delusional (never heard THAT word on blogs! LOL) and continued with your heads in the sand.

Unemployed college students from blue-collar families, particularly single-parent blue collar families, don't just but $120k in jewelry. Lance was getting paid by someone.

That depends on a number of things, many of which I have outlined and you are still ignoring for some reason. When you choose to look at the bigger picture, I would be glad to debate the topic further.

Edit: And just for the sake of arguing, what if he had a co-signer on the loan? Do we know that he did or didn't have one?

I am not ignoring them at all. A 30k unsecured loan for a college kid is a high risk loan to almost any lender, except yours.

You also have to take into consideration the terms of the loan. He promised to pay the balance in 15 days. Where does a college student with no income get $67,000 dollars in that amount of time. If he had a co-signer the jeweler would have sued the co-signer as well.

But this was in December and the draft wasn't until July. The jeweler must have been confident (based on the credit application) that Lance, or someone on his behalf, would be able to obtain the remainder in 15 days. Wait! Now I understand! He was going to get it from Santa!
