You must be so proud. Preseason All World to "we almost ranked". Funny stuff.

I was quoting marked. He's trying to claim those numbers of Coach K, despite his promise he'd lay off the anti-Duke posts for a week about 3 days ago.

You get to face a team with a high RPI on Saturday, one that is on the verge of being ranked again. :)

Yes, it is a big "IF" regarding Carolina winning their remaining games. Beat a highly ranked team? That would Be Duke! I actually think Carolina matches up better with Duke than State, and I think their chances of beating Duke (with or without Kelly, at this point - he's missed so much time), are better than beating State.

As for their remaining games, FSU @ Dean's house should be a win, @ Maryland probably a loss, @ Clemson, toss up. I think a win against Duke and FSU, with winning ONE game in the ACCT will get Carolina a ticket to the Dance. And yes, the name does help to get them in. If Carolina can't beat Duke nor State and flame out at the "World's biggest cocktail party",well, then they deserve the NIT.

He also leads in illegal players (2-0) and illegal national titles (1-0).Didn't you promise not to be your troll-self for a week or something like that?

I'm sure you didn't last an hour, but this slip up definitely proves you're unable to keep your word.

Yes...they might be ranked if they win the rest of their games, not high, a 24/23. The key word here is IF. What happens with State will go a long way to answering that IF. Still think they need to beat some one highly ranked, if not Duke, then Duke or Miami in the ACCT. They lose 3 more regular season games and it won't matter, they'll be heading to the NIT.

Poor guy/girl. Excuse me if you are not Paula, you whine like he does.

Roy leads K in winning percentage. Of course he does not have as many titles, he has not been a head coach nearly as long.

K also leads the nation with number of times a #1 seed has failed to pass the sweet 16 (5), and he has missed the NCAA tournament 7 times to once for Roy.
He also leads in illegal players (2-0) and illegal national titles (1-0).

Maybe one day when you are old enough you will know these things.

Thanks again for validating how little you know about basketball. 23-8, with a win over Duke, would get UNC ranked.

Not saying it will happen. Just stating how flawed, again, your thinking is.

    1) Who is Poor Paula?

    2) Where did I say that I would be personally effected in any way shape or form by the outcome of UNC's season?

    3) There is are other departments he can't catch K in also, wins and titles. You know, the important ones.

If you're going to attempt to troll someone, at least put some effort into it.

Pathetic, though, was your word. Even spelled correctly.

Truth be told, though, if we can't beat either State and/or Duke in the next weeks, I'm not sure we belong.

And if we do, then we wouldn't be backing in.

In any event, why not let the season play out before we assume things. If UNC beats State and/or Duke, they would not "back in".

don't really need to as 20 wins will easily get us into the tourney..well, because we are UNC.

Better beat some one good soon.

  • seedofdoubt Feb 20, 2013

North Carolina [18-8 (8-5), RPI: 25, SOS: 15] Every bubble season there is at least one team -- usually more than one, but at least one -- that isn't good enough to beat any of the good teams it plays but easily handles inferior competition, and somewhere along the way, thanks to the vagaries of the RPI and the NCAA's SOS figure, backs into the NCAA tournament anyway. This year, that team is UNC. The Tar Heels aren't safe, but their top-30 RPI and top-15 SOS make them a lot more formidable than you'd think if you, you know, watched them play basketball.
