I thought state college would bring their "A" game.

Instead, they brought their "CJ" game.

This one was never in doubt.

I think it was K, to tell the truth. For the life of me, I can't even remember what show it was on, and it was last weekend! Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most:)

First of all, I hate Duke, through and through. The only place in the world where Duke isn't hated by the majority of people is New Jersey. Yes, people hate Duke in other countries too. This book from Amazon.com explains well why I and most of the world outside New Jersey hates Duke: http://www.amazon.com/Duke-Sucks-Completely-Evenhanded-Investigation/dp/1250004632/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361929583&sr=8-1&keywords=Duke+Sucks

I would need 20 posts to explain why I hate Duke. Now, having said all that, I do respect what K has accomplished.

I say all this because my hatred for NC State is different. I could care less about the university or the coach. My hatred for NC State stems from the fans. Whereas Duke fans are annoying like a mosquito and Kentucky fans are pompous, NC State fans are the most delusional fans in America.

The most vocal, like the delusional one that posted on this thread, would gladly trade all the wins of the year if they beat UNC. It is no coincidence that Tom O'Brien was fired the year he lost to UNC. As a UNC fan, if the NCAA committee said they would guarantee a tournament berth if UNC lost to NC State twice, I would take that without thinking twice. If UNC was guaranteed a Final Four berth if they lost to NC State and Duke twice, I would also take that! The most delusional NC State fans are unhappy, not because NC State lost, but because UNC won.

"Methinks he doth protest too much." Beating UNC is the delusional NC State fan's superbowl. And because it is theirs, they project that to the UNC fan and think it is ours too. It is not and will never be. UNC's superbowl is the Final 4.

I want NC State and Duke to lose. But if their winning guaranteed a UNC win, I would gladly take that too.

I will admit there are reasonable NC State fans. They are the ones that have a life.

I thought I heard that LDII is doing well at UCLA. Roy gave him a very fair shot in CH, but LDII wasn't happy and wasn't a good teammate. I guess it turned out to be a win-win: Kendall Marshall was a terrific PG for Carolina, and LDII is having a great season in Cali.

Oh, that reminds me of something I saw on TV - can't remember the show, but it said how a coach looks at the big picture, and he'll bench a player, even if it means losing a game because he's looking at what will make the team more successful down the road. Sure it hurts at first, but the team is better off in the long run. I heard Greenberg talk about Roy. I enjoy Seth - he's knows basketball and he's entertaining. He called Miami's Reggie Johnson "a mountain disguised as a man."

Absolutely. If a guy knows he's getting a legitimate shot, he's gonna play relaxed & things will come naturally. Hey, no real time, no real chance of improving. The good players figure stuff out. Not surprised that the Heels are coming together.

LDII's tearing it up now at UCLA. He's 5th in the country in assists and has one of the best A-to-T ratios in the country. He either has or is about to break the single-season UCLA record for assists previously held by Michael Westbrook.

I do believe in "you earn your way into playing time". This is the philosophy Coach K has practiced forever. Even if it means the bench doesn't get developed and he leaves the top 7 in with a 20 point lead for the last 5 minutes. If you don't perform in practice, you don't earn the right to get in the game.

...and on top of that, the kid will go back and work his rear off for you to get good enough to be in that starting lineup because he knows he was treated fairly. LDII can NEVER say Roy did not give him every chance to succeed before putting KM in. LDII handled it poorly, but that was his upbringining coming out as he's been buttkissed all his life.

That's a very good observation by Seth Greenberg. Playing head games with players is not the answer. Players aren't gonna play as well if they're looking over their shoulders after each & every play. Agree with Roy's approach 100%. Let 'em prove they can or can't get it done, takes time to sort that out. You have to give the player a chance to play, make adjustments, etc. IMO

I heard a great explanation by Seth Greenberg, he stated that Roy let's his guys play their way out of the starting lineup, and let's other guys play their way in. It takes time but then the kids feel they had their shot and did not make the most of it, but can't blame the coach for not being fair. Seth was very complimentary of how Roy handles that versus a knee joyk, sit a guy on the bench and put another player in the middle of the game, It's masterful coaching and Roy suffered a few losses to make sure he demonstrated he was fair and and also deliberate. If not for Laranega, a strong finish would have garnered him COY honors possibly.

    people celebrate in different ways...

    some parade down Hillsborough Street...

some sit on the couch and down multiple boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts.

my thoughts are, unc won their SB, and are now in danger of CELEBRATING it a lil too long.

we'll see, but looking at the way they CELEBRATED in that lockerroom afterwards.. you'd have thought they just punched their ticket to the final 4.

sure hope that ELATION doesn't come back to haunt 'em.

    best of luck, holes :)
