I have said most of the year that NIT would be the destination, but that will no longer be the case.
I would say that a 6....maybe a 5 is attainable.

Jerry Palm has them as a #10 playing #7 UCLA in the 2nd round in the East Region where Duke is the #1.

Well, since the official bracket is not out yet, any bracketolgy is someones opinion. All 903 did was post the link to a bracket.
And you ladies get all upset over it. Little sensitive this year arent we UNCheat fans?
If my team was currently looking at a #8 or #10 seed, I think I'd be a little whacked out too. Not as bad as larry or DS, but they're like that anyway....UNC's preseason overrating just makes it worse.

If I had to guess where UNC will be in the NCAA tournament if the selection was today, it will be a #9 seed. Miami a #2, Duke a #1 (mostly because the committee is human and subject to bias), NC State a #10 (because of their last 12 games record), Virginia a #12 or #13, and Maryland out. All-in-all, not bad for losing the 4 most important players on the team to the NBA.
If UNC wins out and makes it to Sunday of the ACCT, I believe they can get a #5 or #6 seed. I don't think that will happen, but I believe that is their ceiling. I do believe they have to beat Florida State and Duke to be a lock in the NCAAT.
