name changes you have done in my honor.

    That screams mental imbalance.
So that just says, you are declaring that your own self is mentally imbalanced since your name is done in Duke's honor.

If I had to guess where UNC will be in the NCAA tournament if the selection was today, it will be a #9 seed. Miami a #2, Duke a #1 (mostly because the committee is human and subject to bias), NC State a #10 (because of their last 12 games record), Virginia a #12 or #13, and Maryland out. All-in-all, not bad for losing the 4 most important players on the team to the NBA.

If UNC wins out and makes it to Sunday of the ACCT, I believe they can get a #5 or #6 seed. I don't think that will happen, but I believe that is their ceiling. I do believe they have to beat Florida State and Duke to be a lock in the NCAAT.

You are so hurt that you posted yet another thread with my name it in your forum.

    That screams mental imbalance.

I deal with what the past has said about a team with a #21 RPI. That does not support a 10 seed.

It's difficult to predict, because the selection committee makes alot of decisions based on what CBS wants to put on TV.

That's why if things hold up and UCLA and UNC are in that 7-10 range, I am betting that will be a first round matchup. The ratings are going to be abysmal this year but a game like that will definitely get the primetime slot.

If my team was currently looking at a #8 or #10 seed, I think I'd be a little whacked out too. Not as bad as larry or DS, but they're like that anyway....UNC's preseason overrating just makes it worse.

Well, since the official bracket is not out yet, any bracketolgy is someones opinion. All 903 did was post the link to a bracket.

And you ladies get all upset over it. Little sensitive this year arent we UNCheat fans?

But these brackets are based on what they know on Feb 26th, with 4 regular season games and a conference tourney to go, there's no way these brackets are supposed to be a prediction of what's going to come out on Selection Sunday.

Maybe your article meant, their final brackets weren't correct. Even that would be hard to get correct since the selection committee changes the weighting of each criteria from year to year.

That IS interesting, Ken. For all the time I spend watching games, especially ACC teams, I do worse with my ACC brackets than my NCAA brackets. And I do worse than my daughter, who doesn't watch a single game all season! Maybe there really is something about picking by team colors or mascots....

I did the same thing the OP did. Post the link to someone else's current bracket. It's a fact that Jerry Palm has UNC as a #10 seed.

  • Ken D. Feb 26, 2013

I read an interesting piece about bracketology today. Basically, it was a ranking of the accuracy of the predictions of the bloggers and news sources that have issued their predicted brackets for at least three consecutive years.

ESPN's guru, Joe Lunardi, comes in ranked 34th best, a little behind Jerry Palm (#32). The Washington Post came in at #1. For all his notoriety, Lunardi seems no better than the average fan. Why do people pay attention to him? Because he has the biggest megaphone on the sports planet.

Agree, but at least they're NCAAT bound, which even a few weeks ago wasn't a sure bet. I don't know about going 3-1 either, but they certainly won't go 0-4.

Very challenging. They are playing better, but MD and Clemson on the road are tough, Fla State at home might be the easiest, but no cakewalk and Duke is, well, Duke.

I know some have said 3-1 for that stretch, not sure about that. Time will tell.

Interesting AND challenging - no gimmies in the last four regular season games. Love the way Paige has improved, and Hairston is gaining a lot of confidence. The "small ball" lineup is getting BIG results. They're peaking at the right time.
