Maybe Julius should stop "practicing his speech" and focus on actually making an impact at some point this season. I'm sure his team and fellow defensive teammates would be THRILLED.

"The only way to get better is for the athletes on the current roster to play better, which includes Julius Peppers, who was again invisible for most of the game."

Anyone have any idea what's going on with JPepp yet? For someone handicapping his team with his salary, you'd think he'd be a big factor...

"I'm leaning towards personnel-based - as I said in the pre-stream, Julius Peppers is turning into a non-factor."

..or at least be able to make a tackle in at a critical point in the game...

"Speaking of Alfred Morris, he was latched onto once by Tim Jennings then Julius Peppers; he picked up an extra ten yards while the aforementioned duo were busily whacking away at the football trying to get it loose. I wouldn't have minded so much except the game was tied in the fourth quarter and while a turnover would have been nice, that was a time when the Bears really didn't want to give up additional yardage."

but that hasn't been the case. What gives?

"Corey Wootton is a maximum effort guy. He is putting it all on the line every week, despite playing out of position at defensive tackle, but he needs help. Julius Peppers was around the ball more in Week 7 (seven tackles), but where are the impact plays? Where are the sacks? Where are the forced fumbles?"

ESPN makes a great point, Peppers simply isn't producing. They need more impact players on the DL....

"But with limited salary-cap space, general manager Phil Emery isn't in a position where he can do much tinkering with the roster."

And who's taking up the most salary cap space? None other than the underperforming Julius Peppers...

For the first time in three weeks, Peppers actually decided to make an appearance on the stat sheet. While he registered 7 tackles (3 solo), Peppers' overall play was underwhelming yet again. The Redskins pretty much had their way with him...

@Redskins - #Redskins RB @Trey_Deuces rumbles 21 yards for the first down! He pushes DE Julius Peppers backward for the final 5 yards. #HTTR

@AdamHoge - Alfred Morris just straight bulldozing Julius Peppers down the field.

@Rich_Campbell - Bears lost every block on the front side of that TD run. Started with Pro Bowl LT winning against Julius Peppers.

@RealMikeWilbon - First Julius Peppers then Peanut Tillman looking inept on that series...long time since Bears D looked this helpless....

@b_mccaffrey - My favorite Bear since he arrived, Julius Peppers, has become just a guy.

Though he is still the biggest waste of money on the Bears roster, it was an improvement. It's important he keeps improving each week and with a bye next week, hopefully Peppers can take some apparent much needed time off and be more productive when they return.
