It would seem that the good Dr was correct in his prediction (in two pages, no less).

$3.168 million for one measly sack this season? Geez, Peppers may be liable for fraud the way if he continues to play like this.

You do realize that the Bears are 4-2, right?

    4 + 2 does not equal 5.

You can't even make this stuff up, folks.

    LOL true.

Dr. punt has been "saving up" for all these years, just waiting for JPep to be "below average" five games into a season...

You can't even make this stuff up folks.

The poor dr. punt seeks self-appreciation by trolling about a player 6+ years older than the average NFL d-lineman. 8 or so seasons past the average NFL career, JPep has no need to defend his stellar career.

  • Dr. Pwnt Oct 14, 2013

And how exactly has any of this helped his team this year? If anything, it seems it may have hurt his team.

The Bears may have thought they were getting a "likely Hall of Famer" but have instead paid $3.168 million dollars for a player who hasn't recorded a defensive statistic in half of their games thus far.

Management certainly can't be happy about that...

It's fitting that a thread about someone that was unprepared for college (according to his own agent) would end up with a nitpick by one of his supposed fans over one misspelled word...

Two-sport star at Flagship U...Pro Bowls, likely Hall of Famer..I'd say he's pretty well set for life, not unusual for Flagship U. alums in the Bigs.

Is that what's got you so upset?

  • Dr. Pwnt Oct 14, 2013

Interesting that the first UNC fan to actually attempt to address the topic ended up talking about NC State. Baby steps, I suppose...

    Back on topic...

"Opposing offensive coordinators used to base each game plan around neutralizing Peppers with multiple blockers. He was double-teamed, if not triple-teamed. Brandon Marshall is treated that way on offense these days. But not Peppers on defense. Only one of those players is still feared, it seems."

Sure doesn't sound good for JPep. Anyone know what's going on with him?

LOL, they mad that JPep has had a long and illustrious career...

and if he were to retire tomorrow, Mary-o would never come close to sniffing the ex-UNC great's body of work in the NFL.

Peppers hasn't been the same since his dear old alma mater threw him under the bus, then backed over him last August...

"I'm terribly disappointed in the fact that my privacy has been violated, as well as frustrated with whoever negligently and carelessly committed such a flagrant error," he said in a statement released to the Tribune.

"I will admit that, at times, some of my priorities were not always aligned properly. Luckily, I had a great support system. - (that) who gave me much needed counsel.

"I can assure everyone that there is no academic fraud as it relates to my college transcript. I took every course with qualified members of the UNC faculty and I earned every grade whether it was good or bad."

Well it certainly seems you're doing what UNC fans do, and deflect, deflect, deflect.

Per ESPN, Peppers has failed to record any defensive statistic in three of his starts this year.

Wow. For someone earning close to $550,000 per game, recording zero defensive statistics for half of your teams season thus far is VERY troublesome.

Did he play Thursday against the Giants? I only ask because I thought I saw him on the field but I'm unable to find him on the stat sheet. Surely somebody who's taking up as much space on the salary cap as he is would at least show up on the stat sheet in some capacity, no?
