Annnnnd after his lackluster performance last season (to put it nicely), the Bears have returned the favor by releasing Julius Peppers. Yikes.

Who needs the Bears when you have that unc education to fall back on?

The UNC education in which you found yourself woefully un-qualified to partake?

Look on the bright side: there are a lot more just like you here on these boards. You should start a club.

    Oh wait you already did.

that's the way NFL contracts are structured (guaranteed monies, not necessarily years).

same is/will happen sooner-or-later to big contract guys like Steve Smith, Chris Johnson, Demarcus Ware, Mary-O.

    courtesy usatoday.com...

The veteran pass rusher agreed to terms Saturday on a three-year deal with the Green Bay Packers, a person with knowledge of the deal told USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team hadn't announced details.

The deal includes $7.5 million in guarantees, will pay Peppers $8.5 million in the first year and maxes out at $30 million.

Peppers, 34, has 118½ sacks over 12 seasons with the Carolina Panthers and the Bears, who released him March 13. He primarily has been a 4-3 end but is expected to be a hybrid player in Dom Capers' 3-4 scheme in Green Bay, getting opportunities at both end and outside linebacker.

Today is the semi finals of the ACC tourney. Just because your team isn't playing doesn't mean we have to discuss football.

It is basketball season. Didn't you know Shaniqua said there was to be no talking about football until AFTER the NCAA's are done? It is an affront to your team to do otherwise, she said.

JPepp and another cool 30-mil. SWWEEEE-EEEEET!!!!

I thought Dr. Punt said he was not any good any more?

Did I just hear 30-million bills slapping Dr. Punt across his pasty, bloated state college face?

Looks to me like they structured that so they can cut him after the first season when he takes plays off. Only $7.5 guaranteed out of $30m. Wow. Pathetic.

    In related news:
The team Wonderlick average instantly went down 20 points as soon as Peppa signed with the packers.

JPepp can not hurt you anymore Fakie...he's an NFL multi-millionaire now and soon to be Hall-Of-Famer.

Relax it's gonna be ok poor thing.

Congrats to Julius Peppers and his remarkable career and all the millions he has made. He certainly made an opportunity for himself despite a poor academic history. What boggles my mind is why UNC fans, are so proud to publicly support a former athlete that shouldn't have even been eligible to play and one whose transcript help start this whole mess of cheating, and keeping athletes eligible through no-show classes. I think I would want to forget him.
