A one year bowl ban was a fitting punishment for what happened. Now on the other hand Lance accepting jewelry..........

UNC's definitely lucky they pulled all their shenanigans under the NCAA umbrella and not Adam Silver's National Basketball Association... Only an organization as inept as the NCAA would allow the decades worth of UNC corruption to have occurred with just a meaningless one year bowl ban to show for it...

If it was a UNC guy as NBA commissioner he would deny that there was a problem and acuse the media of unfairly persecuting them.

Need a good ol Duke guy to come in and clean it up

903, you are as clueless as always. He said he was proud of the town council's decision, probably due to his defense of the 1st amendment, even when the exercising of that right offends. Maybe you should go back to remedial reading class? BTW, you girlz have your skeletons in the closet too so don't get all sanctimonious just yet. Rev. Barbour, one of the biggest racists with a platform out there, sez Hi.

    Yep.

The poor ABCER crowd just isn't sophisticated enough to recognize it. They think "free speech" only applies to them and their daddies when they take their spray paint cans down to the "Free Expression tunnel" (cowering in ABCER darkness, as usual...) in the middle of the night to...well, you know.

    Sad, really.

So the KKK is now operating in the north? Funny how they'd switch from a southern organization to a northern one just to fit a liar's agenda.

This thread is actually quite funny....

Impressionable dolts like kTard, Hal, and Scotty, as 903Troll well knows, will read threads like these and believe that UNC somehow "invited", "sponsored" or "welcomed" the Klan, because of their "ties" to the organization. That is his fervent hope, anyway. "Look at 'em! They marchin' right down Franklin Street!!!" they will squawk, oblivious and clueless to the FACTS as per usual for the ABCER crowd.

When in fact, being a proud LIBERAL community that upholds a group's 1st amendment right rights to freedom of speech (something you, 903Troll, being a Teabagger, should appreciate...), Chapel Hill town council did not deny them a permit to hold a march. Lots of folks turned out to jeer and heckle them, also their right to do so.

I'm proud of the Town Council's decision to let the march go. USA! USA! USA! It's a free country, after all. Folks got to see actual Klansmen up close and personal. It probably didn't look all that different from one of Pack-O-Lips' family reunions.

If that bothers you, maybe you should move to North Korea or Iran.

Good lord... is there any university in the United States with stronger ties to the KKK than UNC*? Putting aside my bias as an NCSU fan and taking an objective look, UNC*'s history (and present) is really just a pathetic, disgusting tale of racism and rampant corruption. Besides having a decent hospital, UNC* is a at best a useless burden to North Carolina's taxpayers, and at worst an institution that openly seeks to victimize and defraud the public. How shameful.
