Actually, no...it has been going on since the summer of 2010. I remember exactly where I was when I read the ESPN scroll about UNC football players being investigated for possible agent related benefits. That was the start of this. And 4 years later, it is still going on.

And the Chancellor wants people to show "patience"? Stop it. Just stop it.

You know, 903, for once you have a post I agree with. And I wrote the same in an email to the Chancellor and AD yesterday, not that it will mean a darn thing.

But don't tell people to have "patience". They, meaning UNC, have allowed this to drag on for nearly 4 years. Whatever the facts are, just deal with them. Get them out, if there is more punishment to be had, then accept it and move on.

But for God's sake, don't ask for people to be "patient". That is just absurd.

So, 903, thanks for sharing. This is one thread I totally agree with.

I thought it had been going on since UNC first opened it's doors in the 1700s?

(At least, that's what the perpetually butthurt ABC'R crowd has been saying.)

    LMBAO!!!

    ohboy.

http://www.dukebasketballreport.com/2014/6/11/5799504/unc-continues-to-ignore-the-elephant-in-the-roomAs the latest stage in the UNC athletic scandal unfolds, here's what we see now.

On Tuesday, UNC Chancellor Carol Folt and A.D. Bubba Cunningham felt compelled to issue statements of support for Roy Williams. Cunningham's was pretty much what you'd expect. Folt's however was a bit ludicrous as she called for "patience."

This scandal has been going on for how many years now? Since 2011? Children have learned to walk and talk during that time. People have started and finished college. Apple has released the iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s and will release 6 before this is over, maybe 6s and 7 too.

Since 2011, Steve Jobs died, Joe Paterno was fired, Anthony Weiner left Congress, Gabrielle Giffords was shot, the future King of England married and fathered a child, Egypt has fallen, twice, Kim Jong-Il died, Osama bin Laden was killed, Whitney Houston died, Sean Payton was suspended for a year and returned to the NFL's Saints, Hurricane Sandy decimated coastal New York and New Jersey, Barack Obama was re-elected, Twinkies died and came back, the Boston Marathon was bombed and Ariel Castro's disgusting behavior came to light in Cleveland, followed by his subsequent suicide.

Now, we understand that this is a different investigation. But as we've said for some time, UNC has tried to finesse the whole business, and that's precisely the wrong way to deal with this. The best way would be a quick, thorough and merciless search for the truth. Patience is not needed; a sense of urgency is.

It could start here if the other members of the 2005 team released their transcripts. Presumably they they would help impeach McCants' integrity and that would go a long way towards defusing this latest round of stupidity and getting to the truth, whatever that is.
