University of North Carolina guard P.J. Hairston will miss Saturday's game against Virginia with a sore left foot.

Hairston is wearing a protective boot on his left foot and will not practice Friday. He played 10 minutes but did not score in Wednesday's game against Duke.

The freshman from Greensboro has played in all 24 Tar Heels games and is averaging nearly seven points per game this season. He is third on the team with 30 three-pointers.

Hairston will be UNC's third guard to miss the Virginia game due to injury – juniors Leslie McDonald and Dexter Strickland are out with knee injuries. Strickland started the first 19 games before injuring his right knee on Jan. 19; he had reconstructive surgery yesterday. McDonald was injured last summer and has missed the entire season.

The Heels will be fine without Hairston Bullock needs more minutes this will give him an opp to open up the game for the Heels

It's too bad that Harriston will be out, too, right along with Strickland and the other. Doesn't bode well with three out.

jgunn; Did you lose a bet or something? I won't be watching this game as mine is on at the same time on WRAL2...good luck, Carolina fans!

This coming from a state fan, I know duke beat carolina on Wednesday. I would be willing to bet a lot of money that carolina doesn't lose another acc game and will win the regular seaon title. I have been watching acc basketball for a long time and its setting up to be just that.

I wish I had your optimism! I honestly don't see that happening, though, especially with Carolina's bench getting shorter and shorter. If Carolina loses another player, Roy may have to lace 'em up and get on the court himself. In the ACC, there's too many teams that can beat any team on any given night. I like your thought process though:)

WOW UNC is falling apart mentally and physically. I guess 'ol Roy didn't have the best off-season workout regimen for his players. I could see UNC finishing 4th or 5th in the ACC and logging a 5seed in the tournament. Without ANY depth whatsoever, I could see UNC getting bounced in the 2nd round. WOW i cant believe this storied season is falling apart in front of our eyes.

SUB-ZERO STRIKES AGAIN!

From the people who claimed their hero was "Emotionally Fatigued" and the same people who worship a Coach who quit and blamed the losses on an assitant. Hypocrits.

Wow, stupidity is coming out in droves from the Dookies, a game removed from a loss to Miami. Pathetic.
