Chapel Hill, N.C. — University of North Carolina freshman forward James Michael McAdoo announced Thursday he will return to school to play for the Tar Heels next season.
“I’ve had several discussions about my future plans with my family and Coach Williams and have decided to return to UNC to continue playing for the Tar Heels and continue my education,” says McAdoo. “I love being at Carolina and really enjoy competing with and being around my teammates and am excited about what we can do together next season. Every young basketball player wants to have as much information about his future and understand what others in the game think about him. It’s been interesting to learn the information that Coach Williams has gathered, but I am ready to continue as a Tar Heel. I’m enjoying my time in Chapel Hill and am excited about the future for my team and me.”
After the Heels departure from the NCAA tournament, McAdoo's father Ronnie McAdoo said his son would return home to discuss his NBA options but that his son "has every intention of being a Tar Heel next year."
McAdoo averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in 38 games. The Norfolk, Va., native started three games (twice in the ACC Tournament and once in the NCAA Tournament) and averaged 10.6 points in his last seven contests. He scored a season-high 15 points against Kansas in the Midwest Regional final.

Rank: Sports Legend Lol, hum I do think Sate went to the tourney last in 2006 and had a sweet 16 appearance during a 5 year run in the tournement. 30 years, lol, simple math. Also if you want to call it insecurity I guess that goes for UNC fans being insecure towards State in football. After all it has been longer since UNC has beat State in football and State has won 5 of their last 6 boel games compared to UNC's bowl record, which is what. BTW, State get better results than was expected this year by far and I think most State fans see UNC's winning streak ending in at least one of the games next year, but really don't see UNC's football losing streak against State ending next year.Dang! Alot of NCSU jealousy out there towards UNC. "On Paper", NCSU should have a pretty good team. You see on these boards that NCSU fans still exude jealousy over UNC. Why is that? Also, as usual, their smack talk based on expectations (there haven't been any in 30 years LOL) before actual results (pretty typical of NCSU fans) only shows insecurity towards their big brother to the west.
