North Carolina will wear a special helmet for Saturday's game against Idaho as part of Military Appreciation Day. The helmet will feature the U.S. flag on UNC's logo.

“Just to be able to honor the men and women that serve our country on a daily basis will be a pretty special day on Saturday,” UNC head coach Larry Fedora said on Monday. “We thought one of the ways we would honor them is by wearing the flag on the interlocking N.C. that’s never been done before here at Carolina. We’re excited about doing that and hopefully we’ll be able to honor them also with the way we play the game.”
North Carolina's athletic department has partnered with the UNC campus ROTC units (Air Force, Army and Navy) to honor current and former military members on Saturday.

UNC is offering current and former military members, as well as emergency service personnel, tickets to the game for $20. Fans can also purchase $20 tickets to donate to active military personnel. UNC will match every donation and disperse the tickets to military members across the state.

What a great way to pay tribute to those that give so much for our country.
