RE: UNC's Davis: Too early to say who has the best program
A program is not just winning games... look at our facilities, our wolfpack club, lifetime rights, fan base, coaches, recruits, NFL drafts etc...... take all that into account and YES NC State is the best in NC. Now Butch cannot deny that NC State DOES have the BEST QB in the State and the ACC.

Facilites = yes they are nice, but dont have to worry about RBC Center which bring more $$ to Carter Finley.
Wolfpack club= every school has thier clubs...
Fanbase = what fanbase other than that in NC?
Coaches= what coaches?
NFL Drafts = nc state is 2nd to UNC
as far as best QB in the state, ill deff say Wilson is the best.
RE: UNC's Davis: Too early to say who has the best program
This argument is so childish. Yes, we beat the four in-state schools. UNC knows we've won the last two years under TOB. Let's move on, prepare for Miami, and then get to a bowl. If we are to have a claim of the mythical "state champions", then there should be some reverence for other schools also. As for not being UNC's rival, there seems to be some ambivalence. Re: BD Distractions ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever worked for a company that was the target of an unwanted acquisition by another company?
I have, and my big memory of that period is how everyone's focus was on what might happen if our company got acquired instead of our jobs. (It was acquired, and I left soon thereafter----I decided to walk away before I had to run.)
I believe all these rumors about Butch leaving for Tennessee, Clemson, Auburn, or wherever didn't had some negative impact on the team, shifting their focus from beating State to wondering what BD is going to do.
This is the sort of thing that can do Coach Davis big harm if he's not careful. Playing coy about whether you're going to stay in Chapel Hill when you're winning is one thing, but playing footsie with other schools during a period featuring a critical road loss followed by a lopsided loss at home to your biggest rival. . . . . .
Not good. Not good at all.
People can turn on coach very quickly if that coach doesn't produce and still demands top dollar for his services. Ask Dennis Franchione if you don't believe me.
Carolina MUST beat Dook. If not, the long knives will be out."

If you don't like it, no one asked you to come...it's just as easy to leave here as it was to come here.
Again, if you don't like it, get out. It's that simple.
