The Heels aced their final test before Wednesday's tilt with arch-rival Duke, crushing Virginia 76-61.
Wayne Ellington led the Heels with 20 points on 8-15 shooting, including 4-9 from beyond the three-point line.
Tyler Hansbrough contributed 15 points and 13 rebounds to the cause, while Danny Green added 17 points, six rebounds and a block.
Jeff Jones led the Cavaliers in scoring with 19 points.
