The intrigue over the status of UNC' s star point guard Ty Lawson continued Tuesday.
While Lawson says his injured toe feels better, coach Roy Williams cautioned reporters not to read too much into that. At a press conference today, Williams noted that Lawson has rested for nine days, so he should feel better, but that doesn't mean he's ready to play.
Lawson must practice before Williams will give him any playing time in UNC's NCAA first round game against Radford. Lawson was scheduled to take part in some of today's practice in Chapel Hill, but it will probably be Wednesday before a decision is made on his status for Thursday.
"There's no way he'll be 100 percent," Williams said. "He hasn't played in nine days and he hasn't even broken a sweat," the coach added. Williams admitted to being surprised that Lawson has been out this long, adding when the injury first occurred he had no idea it would be this big a deal.
