North Carolina
Tar Heel women lose to Purdue
By TERESA M. WALKER Mar 23, 2009
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Purdue finally figured out how to beat North Carolina when it matters most.
Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton and Brittany Rayburn led five Boilermakers in double digits with 18 points apiece, and sixth-seeded Purdue beat third-seeded North Carolina 85-70 Monday night in the second round of the Oklahoma City Regional after losing to the Tar Heels
in two of the past three NCAA tournaments.
The Boilermakers (24-10) will play Rutgers, an 80-52 winner over Auburn, on Sunday in their third trip to regional semifinals in the
last four years.
North Carolina (28-7) had dominated the series between these teams coming in and had won the past three overall. The Tar Heels failed to reach the regional semifinals for the first time in five
years.

Hatchell can coach. Look at how many games she has won. You don't get there without being pretty darn good. Anyone should know this. Period.

Sylvia Hatchell isn't that great of coach. Yes she's won a championship and has dominated the ACC over several years but she gets by on talent. My girls should have never beaten them in the last game this year that was awful coaching down the stretch. UCONN is ripe for an upset by Coach P!

The Carolina Women have not seemed as good all year. However, the early schedule was made up of teams they should have beaten. Losing Larkins and Prinkle had more of an effect than many anticipated. Breeland, McCants, and Dewitt didn't pick up the points and rebounds lost. And at times, Ceteria looked lost.
But Shegog is going to be a beast next year -- already is in fact.

Dookie fans should be careful with their discussions about the UCONN beatdown. UCONN is the best ladies team that I have ever seen play, and I firmly believe yours is coming.
That being said and as hard as it is for me to do, I hope you win. The only thing in sports that I hate worse than the anything to do with Dook is the UCONN women's coach. He might be the biggest jerk in sports.

The Lady Heels seemed to be struggling down the stretch. It's been harder this year without players like Latta and Little. McCants has been a beast all year il the NCAA's). She's an outstanding player and will do well in the WNBA. I hate that her college career ended like this with an early exit from the Tourney.
RRTarheel - I'm with you - they did beat Dook once this year and I'd like to see how Dook would do against UCONN.
