So North Carolina plays in the Final Four this weekend, and you can bet people across the state will be huddled in front of televisions to watch.
But are you pulling for – or against? – the Tar Heels?
The researchers at Public Policy Polling wanted to know. So in a television survey, they found 67 percent of North Carolinians are pulling for UNC, 13 percent are pulling against, and 21 percent don’t care.
Don’t care? Who would admit that?
The poll found that support for UNC is pretty consistent across race and gender lines, but there was a measurable difference between Democrats and Republicans.
Of Democrats surveyed, 75 percent are pulling for Carolina, while only 58 percent of Republicans are cheering for UNC.
Public Policy Polling contacted 725 North Carolinians on March 30-31, and said its report has a margin of error of 3.64 percen.t
