Donavan Tate leaves UNC football program

Donavan Tate has left the UNC football program.

A UNC spokesman says the freshman quarterback was not at practice Wednesday and will likely sign a professional baseball contract with the San Diego Padres.

The Padres selected Tate as the number three overall pick in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft in June.

Rivals.com rated Tate as a four-star football recruit for the Tar Heels. Tate arrived at the UNC campus Sunday. He attended football practice Tuesday but was not in pads.

Also Wednesday, UNC announced that offensive lineman Kevin Bryant, a redshirt sophomore from Lauderdale Lake, Fla., has decided not to return to the team.

You say you won't repeat yourself and 2 minutes later you do. Do you do ANYTHING besides post on Carolina threads trying to stir up trouble? Job? Hobbies? Anything?

Yeah, you piRAT. Your wins against the Heels are practically nonexistent. Guess you have to celebrate Heels losses where you can, right??

Reposted: The fact that before WWII, NC State did not give football scholarships, and only allowed Freshmen and Sophomores to play on their football teams vs. UNC which gave schlorships and had no restrictions on which students could play. This lead to a big difference in wins and losses.

A more accurate record would be since the ACC was formed. I'm sure UNC still leads, but it would be a lot closer .

If you don't think that is a fair time period, how about if you only use the record after they stopped using leather helmets?

Now maybe you understand the reason for all those extra wins under Carolina's belt. But you don't care. It's more fun to chant 63-29-6 while drooling.

Of course you think that's the end of the story. I gave you a history lesson. I won't repeat myself since you clearly don't care to hear it.

You are joking, right? The lead is so big because you guys suck more than you don't. You all won't think it's fair unless we start looking at only the last 2 years.

No, Ben. Don't give out any facts. All that matters is that Carolina has a 30-some game lead in the overall series. We don't care to know why the lead is so big.

The 80's were the early years of Dick Sheridan. You bet State was playing in the 80's!
