Carolina to host second alumni game during basketball season
By Ryan Craig Sep 16, 2009
Those that didn't have a chance to catch the North Carolina alumni game in September will apparently have another chance.
According to Steve Kirschner, a spokesman with school's athletic department, the Tar Heels will host a second game on the eve of Carolina's February 13 game with rival North Carolina State.
The next day, the players will be honored as part of a ceremony during halftime of the contest against the Wolfpack.
"All of the past players will be welcome," Kirschner said.
Throughout the year, North Carolina will be celebrating the 100th season of Tar Heels basketball.
Kirschner added that other tributes, including the wearing of retro jerseys, are also in the works, but specific dates have not yet been finalized.

thf-if we get barnes the dookies will hit the roof. there is already some rumbling on the dook boards about ROY out recruiting kay. i do think the camps are very clever. this way he can evaluate each player against the very best in the country.

I would not hit the roof and would not be surprised. Roy is clearly recruiting better than K right now. Why? I don't know. Will it last? Time will tell.

Why? Because he is more concerned with his Olympic team than dook.

That could be one theory. However, it's my understanding that K was mostly away/working on Olympic Gold during black-out times for communicating with recruits. He has often relied on assistants to hit the recruiting trail. Johnny Dawkins was an excellent recruiter so his departure certainly left a void in that department.

The sole purpose of k's shady camp is recruiting. By DarkNightAhead

shady? Are other camps by other coaches

This game is a celebration not a recruiting tool. By DarkNightAhead
Sure, then K's camp is a camp, not a recruiting tool. Actually, from what I understand, only a couple even had a remote chance of being recruited by K.
Are you saying Roy will not invite any recruits to the "celebration"? Of course he will.

Of course Roy will invite recruits to the celebration but the sole purpose of it is not a recruiting tool. The sole purpose of k's shady camp is recruiting. Doesn't matter if only 2 guys that go have a shot at getting into the program. They need peeps to play right?

After he played overseas, Bilas was an assistant coach at Duke (early 90's) and that's when he received his law degree.
