North Carolina F Graves dismissed from team

Posted October 7, 2010

Will Graves has been dismissed from the University of North Carolina men’s basketball team for failure to comply with team rules, head coach Roy Williams announced today.

“This is 100 percent not related to any NCAA matters on campus,” said Williams in a statement to the media.

“I hate this for Will. He worked extremely hard this summer to get himself physically in the best shape he’s been in years, but he did not do everything he needed to do to be a part of our basketball program. This is a huge blow to our team, but an even bigger blow for Will. Playing for the Tar Heels meant so much to him.”

The fifth-year senior forward was suspended for a portion of the 2008-2009 season for the same reason.

The sharp-shooter averaged just under ten points a game for the Heels last year when he was the team's third-leading scorer.

God people are stupid. Anybody with half a brain cell knows that Graves was suspended before. It was probably a repeat offense. Sturdivant and the NCSU football players got caught for probably the same thing. In case you haven't kept up with the news. The investigation is about Football and always has been about football. Let me guess this guy has no ties to Dook and is probably too dumb to even get a consideration of going to Dook.

So now we've gone from "Butch did NOTHING" to "..punished these guys in ways we can't imagine...". Never let it be said that wuffies can't make at least a little progress.

You say so much outlandish stuff sometimes, forgive me when I can't tell the joking outlandish from the serious outlandish. ;)

That second paragraph didn't deserve a response. I'm sure TOB and Butch both punished these guys in ways we can't imagine behind the scenes. But it hits them where it hurts when they have to skip a game. I'm sure they get over doing 1000 pushups a little quicker than standing on the sideline for an entire game.

The first paragraph was intended as a joke, which I would have thought even a wuffie would pick up on (you did notice that the very next word was 'seriously' didn't you?). And, yes, I obviously do know how funny it was since it was intended that way.

The second paragraph is the serious part, and I noticed you conveniently failed to address it since you have no legitimate rebuttal.

Right. If Quan sat out for punishment, instead of injury, you don't think Butch would have proclaimed that to the entire WORLD? It would only HELP his image to make people think he was suddenly a disciplinarian.

Besides, injuries are an official thing. They are reported to the NCAA. Are you seriously suggesting Butch wanted to punish a kid, and made up an injury so he could keep it quiet, and LIE to the NCAA about it???

LOL, you crack me up sometimes, man. You have no idea how funny your post was. And that makes it even funnier.

This is what being such a huge Carolina homer gets you. You reach a point where you can't even hear what you're saying any more.

He sat out the last game. You think it was for an injury, but that was just a ruse to keep your dander up for another day.

Seriously, sitting out a game against a patsy may have been the easy way out. How do you know that Quan didn't scrub every toilet on campus with a toothbrush, or perform 100 hours of community service? You don't, so don't act like TOB is so high and mighty because he publicizes his punishment and Butch doesn't.

I don't know what Graves did, but this is his second rodeo. Must have been pretty harsh. He was a player, and bailed them out of some games with his hot shooting. They will definitely miss him.
