Devon Ramsay's NCAA appeal on hold

University of North Carolina running back Devon Ramsay will not have his NCAA appeal as scheduled for Thursday, December 16.  The University announced that the appeal has been postponed.

“We asked the NCAA to postpone the appeal hearing for Devon, which was originally scheduled for Thursday," UNC Director of Athletics Dick Baddour said in a statement. "We decided it was in his best interest to allow more time to develop the case in support of him. We do not know the date of his rescheduled appeal at this time.”

Ramsay played in 4 games this season but was then held out the rest of the season as the NCAA investigated the football program.

The junior was ruled permanently ineligible by the NCAA on November 15. “While we respect the decision, the facts of the cases simply do not support permanent ineligibility,” Baddour said at the time of the suspension of Ramsay and Michael McAdoo.

McAdoo, a junior defensive end, was also ruled permanently ineligible by the NCAA. His appeal was heard by the NCAA reinstatement committee on December 14 but he has yet to hear a ruling.

Where did you hear about the paragraphs. Just curious. I heard it was not that detailed of what she did.

That might explain why I've heard that a lot of Wolfpack fans are buying their tickets from other outlets than the WPC.

It all has to do with evidence they have. If they had evidence that Cam knew something, they would have nailed him. But his dad did all the talking. So unless his dad rats him out (ain't gonna happen), how are they going to have any evidence that Cam, himself, knew anything?

It's like OJ Simpson. We all know he's guilty. But if you don't have evidence, you can't convict.

My guess is they didn't like how the first appeal went, and delayed Ramsay's appeal in order to circle the wagons a little better. I can't really see why else they might delay it, especially RIGHT AFTER the other appeal.

But it warranted a PERMANENT suspension by the NCAA.

That seems like a pretty huge discrepancy to me.

Maybe he didn't deserve to be permanently suspended. But he probably did deserve to face the honor court. That would seem like an appropriate middle ground. I heard the tutor re-wrote the opening paragraph, and COMPLETELY wrote the final paragraph. Those are probably the two most difficult paragraphs in a term paper.

Wow, how amazing that UT would sell so many tickets so quickly considering the bowl is played in Nashville, likely the largest Vol fan base in Tennessee! Thanks so much for pointing out the obvious...another stellar post for such a revered dookie.

Maybe one day, when dook steps up to Div I and can actually qualify for a bowl, you guys can try selling out tickets to a bowl game being played 8 hours away. Oh wait, doesn't seem likely seeing as how you guys are too busy getting 14yo minors drunk in your tail gate parking lot and can't half fill Wallace Wade outdoor stadium for your biggest rivalry game (from your viewpoint, vs UNC).

And save your lame and sophomoric "we don't cheat to compete" comments for basketball or lacrosse, the only sports where dook even is relevant. Having a dookie comment on anything about football is as wrong as getting a tongue kiss from your grandma.....ewwwwwwwww!

REALLY??? Back up moronic posts like that with facts or leave them on the bathroom wall where you obviously have been posting before coming here. You are the typical "anonymously empowered" ABC'er....there are way too many of your lot on here already.

Dude, did you even bother to read the article before you put on your blue glasses? UNC REQUESTED THE POSTPONEMENT.

Glad Pack fans are making the trip to Florida even if it's at a bad time. The seats offered by the Wolfpack Club are not that great, but they should sell before the game.
