North Carolina will be without several key players for Thursday night's Music City Bowl against Tennessee.
Bruce Carter (knee) and Alan Pelc (shoulder) are both recovering after having surgery following the regular season's final game against Duke and will not play, according to the injury report released by the university Wednesday night.
Johnny White (shoulder) and Zack Pianalto (ankle), two players the team had hoped could possibly come back in time for the bowl game after suffering broken bones during the regular season, will also miss the contest.
Tailback Giovanni Bernard (knee), defensive tackle Greg Elleby (knee), wide receiver Brandon Felder (knee), linebacker Shane Mularkey (shoulder), and cornerback Terry Shankle (knee) will sit out the game as well.
Anthony Elzy, who had filled in for Johnny White as the starter at running back, will miss the game for academic reasons.
Kick off for the Tar Heels' game against the Volunteers is set for 6:40pm.
