UNC's Felder, Davidson transfer; McAdoo dismissed

Posted May 9, 2011

University of North Carolina defensive back Brendon Felder and linebacker Herman Davidson will transfer from the school, the school's athletic department said Monday.

Tar Heel football coach Butch Davis said Felder is transferring for family reasons.

"Brendon's family is going through some tough times," Davis said. "His grandmother is sick and he wanted to be closer to the family for support."

Davis said he wished "nothing but the best" for Felder and his family.

The athletic department did not state why Davidson was transferring. Davidson played a back-up role at linebacker in 13 games last season.

The two transfers weren't the only two changes to the Tar Heel roster announced on Monday. Defensive lineman Jared McAdoo was dismissed from the program for violating team rules.

As a redshirt freshman in 2010, McAdoo played in 12 games.

Also, linebacker Shane Mularkey will no longer play football, according to UNC. Mularkey underwent season-ending shoulder surgery last season after playing in the first two games of the year.

Typical? You have proof it is typical? Typical means has happened often in the past. Got proof? If not, take a drink from the STFU glass....

If you two were not so ignorant, I'd have a discussion with you. Too bad I can't....

McAdoo must be the first guy Butch didn't offer a starting position to. McAdoo has multiple brushes with the law. The latest being the theft of a stereo system. Typical Butch recruit!

This sentence should be change to "linebacker Shane Mularkey will no longer play football AT UNC". He may have a "career ending injury" at UNC but can go elsewhere to play. It happens before. Don't you all know this is how UNC roll.

and the only time we talk about UNC is when they cheat.....strange.

  • easystreet May 10, 2011

Does dook still have a football program? I haven't heard anything out of them for years. When I bring it up all the fans want to do is talk basketball. Strange.......

^^ That's because he now has a track record of keeping the cheaters and the ones doing some "midnight toking", but kicking off others to make room for his extra recruits.

He keeps and/or dismisses all the wrong players.

Coach Cut wouldn't post these DA comments for sure, I'll give him that.
ABCers complain when Butch keeps players then whine when they get kicked-off. Get a life.
