The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is set to go in front of the NCAA Committee on Infractions Friday, sources told WRAL that former North Carolina associate head coach John Blake will be in attendance with his lawyer.

Blake was linked to the NCAA investigation into the football program last summer due to his relationship with sports agent Gary Wichard and allegations of providing UNC football players with impermissible benefits. Blake resigned from his position at UNC on Sept. 5, 2010.

According to an interview in Sports Illustrated, Blake denied that he had any involvement in steering players to Wichard or providing any improper benefits. He is attending the hearing in Indianapolis in an attempt to clear his name.

"It's important to me that they know [I'm] an honest and good man," Blake told Sports Illustrated. "We all make mistakes in life. But my character, my integrity means a lot to me."

It's because NCSU doesn't give A's for plagiarized papers written in English in a spoken foreign language course.

Correct. State is a techincal/science type school while UNC is more liberal Arts. Easier courses in a liberal arts school. Just my opinion....

Not to mention, Liberal Arts coursework is largely subjective in nature. Unlike the math/science coursework, which almost always has right or wrong answers. You get a match problem right or you don't. But when you (or your favorite tutor!) writes a paper on the impact of the automobile on the industrial revolution, well there is not so much a "right or wrong" answer.

And if the faculty is pro-athlete, I suspect there is rarely a "wrong" answer. Who would argue with how they grade a subjective paper.

And when they can't even catch the most obvious plagiarism, well, then it becomes a little clearer as to how there has never been an academic casualty by a Carolina athlete. They get to cruise right along.

WOOOOOT?!??

You think this is good news for Carolina?

he is the same idiot that thinks falcons make crow noises, so I am not surprised.

I hope Blake tosses UNC, Butch, Thorpe, and Dickie under the bus

you would, but then again you are a small minded immature little boy who can't see past his hatred for UNC to realize this whole thing is killing the ACC conference as a whole.

you ever met me? Didn't think so. I am a 31 year old man who doesn't have to call people little boys online because I have the ballz to call you a little boy to your face.

While I"m sure some of the things he has been accused of are a bit embellished, I still don't believe for a second that he is innocent of everything. You'd have to be a fool to believe that.
