Scotty McCreery and title game still to come at DBAP
Sep 6, 2012
Hey Bulls fans,
It’s your favorite bovine here, ready to fill you in on my daily life around the DBAP now that the regular season is over. This has been an incredible summer; thank you to every fan that came out to see me this year. Usually after the season, I hop into my Go Kart and ride off into the sunset to get some much needed R&R. Luckily for us though, our season here at the ballpark is not quite over yet. There’s one more HUGE game left.
The Durham Bulls Athletic Park is proud to host the 2012 Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game on Sept. 18. The 2012 Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game is a one-game playoff between the winners of the Pacific Coast League and International League. This is the first time that the game will be played east of the Mississippi River. I guess they finally got a boat for the team from the PCL to cross the river.
As much as I wish the Bulls were in it, I know I won’t be stressed out about every play and will be able to focus on what I do best, making you smile! I am so excited about hosting my very first National Championship Game. In 2009, I got to experience the contest up close and personal…when the Bulls won the whole thing. There is nothing quite like playoff baseball. Now imagine that atmosphere and bring it to the home of the greatest fans in all of minor league baseball. Yeah, that’s what I thought! Good stuff.
We have lots of great things in store for the game. The biggest news is that my favorite country singer, and local boy, Scotty McCreery just called me and said he’ll be coming to throw out the first pitch and perform “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” I thought I was famous…people are going to flip out over Scotty! I’ve also invited several of my closest mascot friends to come join me for the National Championship Game. In addition, we will have our usual lineup of awesome on-field activities such as our World Famous Dancing Grounds Crew, my pack of Mini Wool E.’S and tons of other fun stuff.
Sorry folks, but I have to go. There is so much to do around here before the big game. First and foremost I need to clean my room. Then take a nap, and then I will really get to work! I hope to see you at the big game!
