One of the top prospects in the class of 2011 will play college basketball for North Carolina.

Scout.com's Dave Telep is reporting that James McAdoo has made a commitment to UNC.

McAdoo is a 6-foot-8 power forward from Norfolk, Va. He made his pledge after an unofficial visit to Carolina over the weekend, where he took in Carolina's alumni basketball game.

Scout.com ranks McAdoo as the No. 2 prospect in the 2011 class, ESPN has him ranked third, and rivals.com has him at No. 6. He chose UNC over Duke and Virginia.

McAdoo is a distant relative of former UNC star Bob McAdoo.

Great Catch Roy, Keep it in the Carolina Family. I'd be happy to see him turn out like Uncle Bob, former All-American Robert McAdoo.

As for Barnes, if we were to grab him, Roy won't be recruiting for a couple of years. I think if Barnes is going to come to Carolina, we will see a commitment very very soon.

Great news! It does make for a great UNC sports holiday weekend.

p.s. Let's not even bring up that other school in this discussion. They don't even deserve mention.
