Prep star Barnes to announce next Friday

Harrison Barnes has set a date to announce a decision – Friday the 13th.

The Des Moines Register is reporting that Barnes, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, will make his announcement at Ames High School next Friday. Barnes has been the source of a fierce competition between Duke and North Carolina, but is also considering Kansas, UCLA, Oklahoma and Iowa State.

Despite the close promixity of Duke and UNC, such battles over one player are rare between the two programs.

The announcement is expected to be at the school and may be broadcast on ESPN.

Why would he go to dook to slap the floor & flop? K is on his way down & most likely will not bw there in 3/5 yrs.Want to be a TEAM player he needs to come to blue haven where he will learn what FAMILY is all about.

I'm with you on this. I think Ol Roy recogized the talent around two years too late. I hope we're right!

I think he is just trying to keep him away from Duke. Why come in so late and strong on a plyer you had no intrest in until the last minute? I think its because Duke looked to be in a good position with Barnes. But I admit, its just speculation.....sneaky Roy.
