Carolina bowl hopes take a hit
Nov 28, 2009
Atlanta is out - and Orlando may be in?
North Carolina bowl hopes took a slide with Saturday’s loss, and the Heels have no shot at the Chick-fil-A.
Carolina is 4-4 in ACC play and can’t go to a bowl ahead of Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech or Clemson under league rules.
That means Carolina could land in the ACC’s fourth bowl, the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando, Fla. That game is Dec. 29 at 8 p.m.

I'm pleased overall with UNC's football season. After the terrible ACC start the team could have folded. They did not give up and had a great run. The last game vs. NCSU was sour for sure. The Heels will be bowling, and that's a a great habit to start.RE: Carolina bowl hopes take a hit
Yea , Orlando would be the best option.RE: Carolina bowl hopes take a hit
UNC was sitting pretty until the upset yesterday. It shocked most people. Still they get a Bowl. *8 wins and maybe another.RE: Carolina bowl hopes take a hit
Nashville is also a great destination for a bowl game and vacation.RE: Carolina bowl hopes take a hit
Atlanta or Orlando? Hmmm....I would much rather go to Orlando for New Years. Ive been in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl and it was a fun game....cant say the same for the New Years Eve festivities around the city on either trip.Today's loss is not going to greatly impact UNC's bowl standings...unless Carolina is sent back to Charlotte, which I highly doubt since they played there last season.
Again, the Champs Sports Bowl is a lot of fun.
