All through the NFL, former NC State players got a day to brag to the UNC NFL players after the Wolfpack's 28-27 win over the Tar Heels at Carter-Finley Stadium.

State and Carolina have been Rivals for as long as the ACC been around, you Carolina fans kill me. Duke/Carolina has only gotten bigger in basketball since around 1990 when State's bball program started to become irrelevant. Before that the State/Carolina bball games were just as big as Duke/Carolina....ESPN has made the Duke/Carolina rivalry seem bigger, and the fact that the two teams starting in the 90's have both been playing at a high level, State was just left in the dust when it comes to bball...- Posted by PACKFAN08
I apologize didn't mean to kill anyone..I saw this headline and was curious..Like I said been a fan for over 20 years and I remember when Coach K arrived in Durham in '81 there was a buzz about how the Dean's reign as King was over as no other Duke coach since Vic Bubas had any type of constant success against the Dean. Dean managed to stay around until another 15 years I think after K got there and held an edge in wins until he retired..I just don't remember the same buzz with STATE State seem more like a sibling rivalry versus the disdain held for the dookies..
Again I could be wrong

Question:Doesn't a storied rivalry involve some type of hardware ???
IE the Victory Bell that Carolina rings when they beat Dook ???
I have been a Tarheel fan for over 20 years and as long as I can remember the arch-rival of UNC has always been the Dookies.. I could be dead wrong on this so wondering if there some sort of "traveling trophy" passed back a forth between UNC and State in any sport ??I'm not saying that State is not a rival but can't remember them being an arch-rival..I actually would root for State in other games until TOB got there..His arrogant words without deed just rubbed me the wrong way..
