Carmichael Auditorium is back open for business.
The UNC women’s basketball team returns to Carmichael Tuesday with a 2 p.m. game against Kennesaw State. Carolina hasn’t played in Carmichael since the end of the 2007-08 season. Since then, the facility has undergone an enormous renovation, with a new façade and complete revamping throughout.
Carmichael was the home to the men’s basketball program for much of the Dean Smith era. But the gym’s allure was its intimate environment, as amenities were few.
