My final AP football poll

Posted January 8, 2010

Alabama received all 60 first place votes in the final AP football poll, mine included. But 2, 3 and 4 were separated by only 33 points. Texas held a 29 point margin over Florida for 2nd and Boise State finished 4th, 4 points behind the Gators.

I have the Broncos 2nd in my poll. I mean come on, the guys finished undefeated, can't sniff the BCS championship game and 4th is the best they can finish? Nick-nack, paddy-wack give Boise State a bone.

Six teams exited my poll after bowl losses so six newbies make the list. Out are Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Stanford, Arizona, East Carolina and Houston. The newcomers include Central Michigan, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, USC and Navy.

The Middies finished 10-4 with losses to Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Temple and Hawaii. Three of those games were on the road.

So here is my final AP college football poll. It's kind of a sad day knowing the season is officially over. Till next year...

I understand that 'Bama scored the most points, therefore they will the game vs. Texas and are crowned #1. However, Texas is a better football team.
