The Hurricanes might have the finest group of equipment managers in the NHL, now you can add toughest. Equipment manager Bob Gorman was hit in the head by a puck during the Nashville game that required 8 stitches. Gorman being a true pro got stitched up and finished his job. Gorman said besides a headache he is no worse for wear. Although if that is not a sign for how this season has been going for Carolina, it is hard to imagine what else could happen.

The Hurricanes staff though did admire Gorman's effort, Canes head trainer Peter Friesen summed it up best, "That's the epitome of a great equipment manager, that's what you want the whole team to be based on. That type of drive and desire and grit those are the variables we talk about with all athletes and Bob Gorman demonstrated that last night in Nashville."

Bob Gorman is one of the good guys in hockey, it's unfortunate that it took a puck in the head to get a story written about him. However, Gorman shows once again the phrase, "he's tough he's a hockey equipment manager!" is not just a cliche but a way of life.
