Neither Coach K, nor anyone who has posted here, has suggested that the gestapo go round up the clowns at The Chronicle. Thanks for the civics lesson, Samuel Adams. Duh. Of course they have the right to print it. And Coach K has the right to call it out for the moronic drivel it was.

I appreciate Coach telling it like it is. What does a student who writes know whom to play? K is one of the smartest in this business. HOF. Gold.

I've got no problem with Coach K dissing the paper. And I had no problem with Mike Gundy's "I'm a man, I'm 40" tirade a while back. I think Coaches should stick up for their players.

As an outside observer I do think Singelar's play has been poor as of late, but I think this is most likely the cause of lost confidence because he's not shooting the ball well. He needs to limit his 3 point attempts and focus more on taking it to the hole. He's not as quality an outside shooter as they think he is. Yeah he can hit some long bombs, but he's not consistent or reliable from 3, never has been, lost enough teasers on them in ACC play to know it. I also think they need to play Dawkwins more. Yeah, he's a defensive liability and rushes some shots, but that's what freshman do. He needs playing time to work through it. I really don't get Coach K's early season bench shortening. That's the best time to get these young kids some minutes. He shouldn't be relying on Schere/Smith/Singelar to play 36+ minutes a game. I swear this is why they are so worn down come March, and why I fade Duke whenever the tournament comes around. Been cleaning up.

Look at is this way coach K graded the newspaper article and gave it a grade of "Needs Improvement. It appears the writer direly needed a strong laxative despite exercising his Bill of rights. As the leader of Duke Male Basketball program it is part of his job description to run interference for his boys from those who imagine they know how to create and run a Tier One team. I don't think the players themselves would be permitted to publicly voice their own feelings.
