"Great block" So says ref Valentine
Feb 11, 2010
NC State couldn't of had a worse night from the three point stripe. Literally. They were 0-11. That's 0% if I'm doing the math right. But they weren't the only ones missing from three point range.
In the final seconds of the first half of Wednesday nights match up against Virginia Tech, Julius Mays attempted a final shot from downtown. Mays gave a shot fake and then attempted his shot, only to have it "blocked" by Jeff Allen. At least that's the way head ref Ted Valentine saw it. Fans at home always react unfavorably to calls by officials. So it was not shocking to hear the boos reign down when a foul wasn't called.
With no time left on the clock, Valentine danced across the floor towards the scorers table. He clapped his two hands together yelling "Great block, great block!" What can you say about missing three's when a defender gets "ALL BALL."
