John Henson knew what was bringing the Heels down

It's interesting what you can finally find out from a player 30 games into the season.

The Tar Heels had a lot going on at the Dean Smith Center last night. They picked up the 2,000th win in program history. They said goodbye to a couple of important seniors in Deon Thompson and Marcus Ginyard. And the Heels won two straight games for the first time since December.

The reasons for all the losing in the last two months have been debated. Effort, injuries, and inexperience have all been brought up as issues that helped to the Heels downfall. But one freshmen had a different reaction (1:30 in) as to what the Heels have done differently in the past two wins.

"Just as a team we've come together. Like coach said, we liked each other but we didn't care about each other," John Henson said after the Tar Heels 69-62 win over Miami. "We're starting to care about each other and care about our performances and it's starting to show in the games."

Head coach Roy Williams has been grilled with question about chemistry all season long. He's been asked if certain players are forming their own "clicks" with each other, and Williams never seemed to have a definitive answer.

According to Henson's quote, coach did say something recently about how much his players care about each other.

Maybe all you have to do is ask a freshman what the real situation is, and he won't know any better but to give you a straight answer.

J. Williams was actually 7-1 vs. UNC during his time at Duke, but thanks for the revisionist history, mathematically challenged lesson anyway

TBK....you are just a great fan without a University to pull for...why don't you swallow your red pride and move on with the rest of your life...a casual reader can copy and paste your comments after every state game because you s**k just like your beloved wolf peckerheads...read my lips...your state athletic program will never amount to anything in our lifetimes....analyze that monkey d**k

Hey, take it easy on TBK. I'm a Heels fan, and I usually enjoy reading what he has to say. By far, one of the most rational posters on this board.

There's no question that we're taking our shots this season (and deservedly so), but you have to have the patience of Job to be a long-time State fan, and I actually have a lot of respect for them.
