Attitude and effort aren't Carolina's problems
Mar 9, 2010
Roy Williams said on Monday that it was going to be difficult....trying to change his team's behavior in just three days before the ACC Tournament tips off in Greensboro.
"Part of education is teaching, and part of it is learning. And you can teach something but at some time, whenever... first grade, tenth grade, 12th grade. The behavior's gotta change and you got to do what you were taught," Williams said.
Even after 31 games and the conclusion of the regular season Williams was still frustrated from having to tell his players the same things over and over and over again. He had plenty examples from the most recent Duke game.
But for those that have said that Carolina has quit on the season, the guy watching the closest doesn't think that. Roy says that attitude and effort is not his team's problem. It's their commitment and concentration.
"If you play golf, you hit a bad shot and say 'gosh, I've got to remember not to forward press as much on the swing.' Well it's gotta be a commitment. It's gotta be a concentration. If you don't do it It doesn't mean you're a bad guy. It's not even necessarily that you don't have good effort."
The golf analogies seem to sooth Roy the most. Fitting there's a good chance he may be on the golf course on Friday morning.
