NCSU honoring Yow with memorial garden and statue
Mar 9, 2010
It is simply called the Kay Yow Memorial project but it is a major undertaking for the NC State University student government.
The plan is to construct a memorial garden on the front side of Reynolds Coliseum to honor and memorialize previous coaches for their outstanding contributions to Wolfpack athletics.
Kay Yow will be the first coach to be honored.
In addition to the garden, a bust of Coach Yow will be on display. The garden area will also have space reserved for seating, allowing for reflection and inspiration.
Jeffrey Johnson, a student at NC State and the Student Government Athletics Director, said "I'm proud to say that one of our biggest projects is the NCSU Student Government Coaches' Corner - Kay Yow Memorial."

RE: NCSU honoring Yow with memorial garden and statue
This is a nice gesture and a great student government project. I understand why the location was selected, but it would have been nice if they could have put it somewhere on campus that would get a little more traffic and where it could be used to breakup the seeming miles of solid brick buildings and walkways.I can already see the fight coming down the road when there is a push made to have Valvano recognized there. It'll be interesting to see if NCSU allows that to happen as it should. He should be there along with Case and Sloan.
