PackPride: Signs point to Mays transferring from N.C. State
Apr 21, 2010
Message boards and Internet rumors. The latest one involves N.C. State guard Julius Mays leaving the program.
PackPride.com editor James Henderson joined Mark Thomas on 620 The Buzz Wednesday morning. Henderson was aware of the impending situation with Mays but was noncommittal when discussing it on the show.
"We really can't run anything on that situation until we can get someone to publicly comment on it," Henderson said. "But from everything we gathered all signs point to that happening. It's just a matter of us reaching Julius, a family member, someone along those lines to confirm it."
After completing his sophomore season, Mays holds career averages of 4.6 points per game and 1.6 assists per game. Mays could also struggle for minutes in his junior season with Javi Gonzalez and talented freshmen guards Lorenzo Brown and Ryan Harrow in the mix.
"From what we've been told he's looking for a situation where he can receive more playing time and finish out his career," Henderson said." To us there's a lot of smoke to it and it's just a matter of confirming it. All signs really point to that happening at this point."
As of Wednesday morning there's nothing official on Julius Mays transferring from State, just speculation.

I see a few comments from State fans bringing him down. Maybe that makes you pitiful people (you know who you are) feel better about yourself. But keep in mind the reaction of present (and future) recruits that read those sorts of unnecessary posts. "Wow, is this how the fan base treats players???"All Mays is guilty of is playing his best at NC State. There's no need to run him down. How about simply thanking him for the blood, sweat and tears he gave to our fine university, and leaving it at that?
Think about it.

actually, the Lady Pack had a great season, making the ncaa tourney!- Posted by ugottabkiddinmeprobably will considering the girlpack only avgs. about 25 points per game as a team...4.6 points per game is like a double double anywhere elseMan we are sure gonna miss that 4.6pts, and 1.6 asst. per game.- Posted by PACKFAN08

...good point, and whose offense was it...and who recruited and "tutored" the 3, mr defender?- Posted by conrad27713Pls tell me which one of the 3 headed PG's was comfortable running the offense ?nothing personal against Mays, but he was constantly looking over at the bench when he should have been pushing the ball....he NEVER generated anything, and he was a POINT guard!!...it seemed like he was only aware of getting the ball over the mid-court line to avoid the turnover, then it was always stop above the circle, look at the bench, and dribble around....he did not seem to be comfortable handling the offense, and he was way too timid about shooting MOST of the time...very puzzling player, because he does have skills- Posted by duane11
