St. Augustine's brings in more academic awards

Posted May 5, 2010

Saint Augustine’s College won the CIAA highest grade point average award in three more sports – men’s cross country, football and women’s volleyball – to raise its total to seven academic honors this season. The latest awards were announced by the CIAA on Wednesday.

The Falcons posted a 3.15 GPA in men’s cross country, a 2.73 GPA in football and a 3.35 GPA in women’s volleyball. They already captured the league’s highest GPA award in women’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball earlier this season. Women’s volleyball has the highest GPA among the Falcon athletic teams.

The academic accomplishments coupled with the athletic success make this season one of the most outstanding in Falcon athletic history. The Falcons claimed CIAA championships in seven sports including women’s cross country, men’s basketball, baseball and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field.
