FOXSports.com senior basketball writer Jeff Goodman got a glimpse of the key ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchups before ESPN releases the full schedule later this week.

Duke entertains Michigan State at Cameron Indoor Stadium. As Goodman points, it could be an epic regular season showdown between the defending national champions and a team many will have tabbed favorites at the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

North Carolina will play at Illinois in a battle of 2010 NIT participants.

N.C. State's new blood will get a big test on the road with the Wolfpack playing in Madison against Wisconsin.

RE: Triangle ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchups revealed

Why does WRAL & wralsportsfan.com ignore the fact that there are FOUR ACC teams in North Carolina, one that had better ACC & overall basketball records than UNC or NCSU this past season. Also, there are more WFU alumni in Wake Co. than any other county in the state. Also, Wake may have won only the First Round game in the NCAA's, but at least they went there instead of the Nobody's Interested Tourney (NIT).

On the matter of Wisconsin being a tough opponent, in the 11 year history of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Wake has played, and beaten, Wisconsin 3 times. Additionally, Wake has, second only to Duke, the best W/L record in the Challenge (8-2).

So, WRAL & wralsportsfan.com, get your stuff in your sock, and cover the Demon Deacons the way they deserve to be covered and the area fans would like to see them covered. GO DEACS!!!

Winston Salem is part of the Triangle now? Because it didn't say Tobacco road teams in the title, it said Triangle teams.

LMFAO.....so teams in the "TRIANGLE"....that's 3, right? if there were 4....would that make...um....teams in the SQUARE??? pooooor wake, that red-headed step-child that always is in the corner screaming "show me some attention!!!!!"

It's not so much that. This area is "the Triangle", and WRAL is serving their "local area". So they posted an article about the Triangle ACC teams. Why should they include Wake? When the rest of the schedule came out for the entire ACC, there was an article about that, too.

Challenge

I thought the ACC had ten teams. I wish wral would do a better job covering the ACC.

Twelve teams. Believe the Big Ten has eleven teams now.

Winston-Salem has their own TV stations with their own websites to cover WF. Winston-Salem is not in the triangle. Pretty simple.

oops won* I was so amazed that someone would play the 'acc/big 10 challenge card' that I forgot how to type!

I was just responding to the implied comment that UNC lost in the Challenge. But guess they are only "meaningless" games if Duke and State loses those games.
