In the continuing search to replace David and Travis Wear, North Carolina is targeting a transfer who would be eligible to play this season.

According to Jeff Goodman of FOXSports.com, the Tar Heels are in the mix for 6-foot-9, 245-pound Justin Knox. The rising senior is transferring from Alabama and is also interested in Georgia Tech.

Goodman spoke with Darien Knox, Justin's uncle, who said he fielded calls from Roy Williams and Steve Robinson on Monday. Knox could make an official visit to Chapel Hill this weekend.

As for the Wear twins, the forwards were officially granted their release by North Carolina. True to the speculation, UCLA appears to be the destination.

It does not get me upset that you posted this. It was just a silly forum. Like I said, if you lose 3 players then you obviously have to replace them. My life did not get worse just because the Heels were bad this past year. What they do has no effect on me. I just cheer for them and that is all.

I have a life outside of UNC sports. I guess you do not, my friend. Sad.

Started 17 games last season and averaged 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds. The 'holes are desperate for help. Huckleberry normally would never have sniffed at this kid.

If one man gives you the same production as two, I think it's a pretty good swap.

KNOX - 19.8 min, 6.3 pts, 3.7 rebs
WEAR TWINS - 20.5 min, 6.4 pts, 3.9 rebs

How is this kid eligible to play right away? I thought you had to sit out a year. Come on writer-guy, provide the pertinent info.

This wreaks of more shadiness. At least it's not as bad as pressuring a kid skip his senior year of high school for your own personal benefit. (Andre Dawkins)

He's already graduated in three years so the apparently the transfer rules don't apply. He was the SEC scholar athlete of the year. He wanted to go to UAB for graduate work but that was one of the restrictions Alabama placed on his release.

IMO, I think if you graduate you shouldn't have any restrictions.

One too many "the". Obviously, it took me longer to graduate:).
