On Friday, popular sports blog SportsByBrooks posted videos featuring the late night shenanigans of N.C. State defensive back Jarvis Byrd and former Tennessee wide receiver Nu’Keese Richardson at a Walmart. That would be the same Nu'Keese Richardson that was was kicked off the Vols squad after being convicted of attempted armed robbery last November.
In the videos, the crew goofs around with some not-safe-for-work language and possibly steal a couple of shirts. Emphasis on "possibly", since there is no proof in the videos that Richardson and Byrd walked out of Walmart without paying.
Both Richardson and Byrd insist the video, where they openly talk about stealing merchandise, was a complete farce. "Everything was paid for,” Richardson told the Palm Beach Post.
An NC State spokesperson told WRAL they were aware of the video and that Byrd said he did not steal merchandise. N.C. State coach Tom O'Brien has already met with Byrd and the issue will be handled in-house.
Whether these guys stole shirts from a Florida Walmart or not is irrelevant at this point (although showing a receipt would have been nice). The worrisome part is that they're dumb enough to not only film a potential crime, but to actually put it on YouTube for public consumption as well. Mind-boggling.

The reason a lot of people are starting to look toward him with these sorts of cases is that they are starting to pile up rapidly this summer. I understand that he can't be with all of them all of the time, but ultimately, it is his team and their actions reflect on him as he is the one that decided to bring these players into the NC State program. That said, most of this is nothing that some winning couldn't cure. The problem is that he's not done a whole lot of winning since he arrived either, which just makes the spotlight on these types of things that much brighter.RE: A couple of football players walk into a Walmart...
Why is everyone pinning all this on TOB? He doesn't live with the kids and go everywhere they go. He is not their father. These kids are showing how they were raised and how THEY have decided to live THEIR lives.- Posted by Capitals Fan
If he kicked all of the losers off the team and we go 2-10 this season you would say he needs to be fired. Make up your mind. Should he be strict or win football games? The kids are responsible for their own (stupid) behavior.
