State AD Yow to review Lowe's status at season's end

Many Wolfpack fans are looking at the 2010-11 campaign as the last for Sidney Lowe to prove himself on the sidelines at N.C. State.
After missing the NCAA Tournament for the fourth year in a row last season, patience among the Wolfpack faithful is running thin and the team's current three-game conference losing streak isn't helping matters.
State athletic director Debbie Yow joined Adam Gold and Joe Ovies on 99.9 FM The Fan Thursday afternoon and reiterated what she has said about the issue all along: Sidney Lowe's job status will be reviewed when the season is over.

sendek acc record 72-88...he utilized the greenburg philosophy of padding the overall record with creampuffs..otherwise, why do you think there is such a disparity b/t overall record and acc record??...he is currently 9-9 and 1-5 in the weak pac10, and last yr he missed the ncaa tourney for the same reason as greenburg did, despite a good overall record...playing too many weak teams got him the overall top seed in the nit last yr, where he promptly lost in the first round to an 8th seed....which is the ncaa equivalent of a 16 seed beating a 1 seed, which i dont believe has ever happened...5 straight ncaa bids is definitely a good thing, but he also lost to a 3-13(acc) wake forest team twice in one week in his last season....the last game of the season, and the first round of the acc tourney..he was fortunate to make the ncaa that yr, and prolly did so b/c the acc was such a strong conf at that time...overall record against wake forest..9-16...we dont even need to mention his record against unc and duke.."Imagine if Carolina stayed with him for ELEVEN YEARS. interesting...what made sendek a bad coach? his career at NCSU(191-132)? His last five years (105-58)? 5 Straight NCAA appearances?
Interesting that you would view that as a "bad" coach.

Sidney is gone. I hope he finds somewhere else, though. I remember watching him as a player. But,it will never work--bringing in someone with NO head coaching experience to work at an ACC school. Never. Doherty had a very short stint as head coach before UNC but it still wasn't enough. Fans, alumni, boosters all expected too much of Sidney from the get-go.Posted Jan 21, 12:29 p.m.

As an NCSU alum no one with any basketball IQ thought that the Pack was going to make the nCAA tourney just b/c we recruited 3 FRESHMAN All Americans. Brown, Harros, and Leslie may have been 'ALL THAT' at the high school level, but they never went up against ACC and Division 1 talent on a 3-4 times a week basis, and as I have watched them versus the bulk of teams, all of our freshman are about 25-35 lbs undersized when it comes to being able to penetrate inside. Ill give Sidney until the end of the 2011 season and if we dont make the NIT or NCAA then go in a different direction. For one: The only REAL senior leadership we have had is Tracy Smith who has been out for 2 months(Javier Gonzalez, PLEASE what a joke), after our 'creme-de-la-creme' gets a year wiser, stronger, smarter on defense', then judge Sidney's coaching style, not when THREE of our FOUR go to guys 'ARE FRESHMANE, even all-american' freshman", its not like we've EVER had three all americans on our squad at once anyway, and who got us those all american..SIDNEY LOWE!!! GIVE SIDNEY until the end of the 2011 bball season, and THEN judge his performance based on that season, not the current one!- Posted by Lars Marson
