UNC D-line coach back to NFL?

Posted February 4, 2011

Brian Baker hasn't been the defensive line coach at North Carolina long, but he has already made an impact.

Many are crediting Baker with landing the upset signing-day commitment of Delvon Simmons, a five-star defensive tackle that had previously eliminated Carolina from his list of finalists.

As it turns out, Baker may not be around to coach Simmons, as the former defensive line coach for the Carolina Panthers may be headed back to the NFL sooner rather than later.

I heard during football season most of the unc assistants were looking. It appears he's the first to go.

I wonder how much Baker got paid for the "Bait and Switch"

  • wjuliang Feb 4, 2011

At least UNC has talent people want to hire away.

  • snowplow Feb 4, 2011

I wouldnt want any of them at my University. They are tainted and will bring "the mockery that is UNC football"

Wait a minute. Is he leaving or not?

    Article says he is.

christopherwilliams843 seems to have information to the contrary.

Did he work a raise out of this, or what? Butch got a raise after winning four games in his first season. Now this. Looks like Carolina's football coaches are nothing more than a bunch of mercenaries.

Never mind. I read this too quickly. He just got an offer to leave.

But if he goes, will this be a case of rats jumping ship? Time will tell... :)

LOL...it's alright, I say he stays, I watched him on NSD (nat'l signing day) discuss the players, staff program etc... and the vibe I got is he will stay. Seems like he likes what he sees so far.

Its on the tarheel website(live NSD video) its about 3hrs long

I saw it live but I think he stays (just off impressions)
